DETAILS OF CAR
[ Paint ] You are seeing the car the way the owner bought it. The paint looks like it may have been touched up in a number of areas, but everything is smooth, shiny and matches well. We did not detect any "trash" in the paint or orange peel.
There are tiny chips and nicks on the front lower valence. It looks like it rubbed up against something like a parking curb. There are brush-touched chips around the headlight buckets. Both front fenders are starting to check at the body seams.
The drivers front fender has some rubbed spots above the tire. There are paint chips on the back edge of the front fender (where the door opens). There are stone chips on the back side of the drivers door, on the rear wheel opening, and the rear quarter. Scratches have been brush-touched in the rear, where the spoiler comes down.
There is a fingernail type scratch above the " Indianapolis speedway" on the passenger rear quarter. We see fish eyes or gels in the black, below the door handle and latch. There are stone chips in front of the rear wheel opening, and along the door and front quarter.
[ Body ] The body seems straight and the fits look correct. The passenger front fender seam is starting to split and the rear body seams are also beginning to open slightly.
[ Chrome/Bright Work ] The chrome and bright work appears to be original. Nothing looks like it has been rechromed. There are some scratches on the door handles, but overall, it seems to be in decent shape.
[ Glass ] The windshield looks like it may be a replacement. It does not have any scratches, scrapes, chips, or flea bites. We do not see a tag or label on the front window. The side windows appear to be original and do not have any marks. The rear window does not show any discoloration or delamination.
[ Interior ] The interior appears to be original except for the radio, which is a replacement. The seats are soft and supple, but the stitching is a little stained. The steering wheel shows some wear and a minor cut. The door panels look good except the plastic that surrounds the door handle. The chrome plating is worn off. We do not see anything wrong with the visors; they seem nice and soft. The chrome attachments could be cleaned to make them shine. The carpet and floor mats could also be cleaned, as they are stained. The passenger side shows pink cast.
[ Tires and Wheels ] The tires are Goodyear Radial GTs, size P255 60 R 15. The drivers side front has about 5/32 of tread. The drivers rear has about 7/32. Both rears have about 6/32.
[ Engine ] The engine area all looks to be in original condition, however the A/C and heating systems were disconnected (see close up photos where heating and cooling lines were bypassed).
[ Chassis ] We did not detect any perforation in the frame. The brakes, suspension, etc., all looked like you would expect a car of this age. The underside, particularly the exhaust system, is fairly rusty. There do not appear to be any leaks in the exhaust, but it looks like maybe the car was stored in an environment with a lot of moisture. There are some typical leaks with the main seals (the rear main seal and transmission seals may have dried out if the car sat for a while). Those seals should probably be replaced.
[ Mechanical ] We went for a ride in the car, and everything seemed very smooth. It is a nice riding car. The brakes stop well, but pull a little to the right (the brake calipers were replaced June 2008). We tested the following items and they were working at the time of the listing:
Headlights Brights Turn signals Brake lights Back up lights
According to the owner, the clock may be disconnected and the heater core has been bypassed. Also, A/C does not work.
